PhotoBite: Pasties, my first solid taste of northern Michigan

Can’t experience Michigan without experiencing pasties. This was my first, a homemade one from a little bakery on the northern peninsula.

And I found out two things:
  • Pronunciation is crucial: Not “pay-stees” (like pastry without the “r,”) but “pass-tees.”
  • You cannot — and should not — eat this without ketchup. Lots and lots of ketchup.
